Quick answers
No. There is no sign-in of any kind. Favorites, preferred Mass times, reminders, and settings stay on your device.
Yes. Every feature is free, with no ads or subscriptions. Settings also offers optional one-time purchases that support development; they unlock nothing.
The directory includes 125 curated parishes across Northern Virginia, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Estero / Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, New York City, Southern California, Chicago, Atlanta. Northern Virginia has the deepest coverage; other regions have a curated set of anchor parishes rather than every parish in the diocese. Searching a U.S. city or ZIP code outside these areas shows nearby churches from OpenStreetMap, without Mass times, so you know where to look.
Save at least one parish in the app. Then touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit, choose Add Widget, and search for Mass Compass. The widget comes in small and medium sizes, and there are Lock Screen versions too.
In Settings, turn on a Sunday Mass reminder and choose how early it arrives, from 30 minutes to 2 hours before. You can also get a reminder at 7 PM the evening before each holy day of obligation. Reminders are scheduled on your device from your saved parishes and preferred Mass times.
Yes. On a saved parish, use Add to Calendar to create a weekly event for your regular Mass. The app uses the system event editor and does not read your calendar.
No. Location is optional and is used on your device to sort nearby churches and estimate distance. Without it, you can still browse and search the full directory.
Parishes change schedules for holy days, holidays, weather, and special events. Each parish page links to the parish website and phone number, and shows a schedule review date where one is available.
